What this means is that by recessing the support feet and foundation structure the bed seems to float above the surface of the floor offering a look that is dramatic and attractive.

Queen Size Bed available with Headboard Lights or without Headboard Lights. 77” wide x 98” long x 7” to the top of the bedframe. Height to the top of the headboard is 31”. Width of the headboard is 103”. 230 lbs. The total width of the headboard including an optional Floating Tokyo Nightstand on each side of the bed is 130” wide.
King Size Bed available with Headboard Lights or without Headboard Lights. 94” wide x 98” long x 7” to the top of the bedframe. Height to the top of the headboard is 31”. Width of the headboard is 103”. 255 lbs. The total width of the headboard including an optional Floating Tokyo Nightstand on each side of the bed is 147” wide.
Pair of Molded Foam Backrests. Optional Molded Foam Backrests for use with any size of Tokyo Bed. The backrests are 19.7" wide and weigh 12 lbs.

The Tokyo Platform bed and matching bedroom furniture set is the highest level of environmentally friendly furniture on the market today. The full Tokyo set has been classified as “E-1” constructed, using only wood that is E-1 certified. What does this mean?
E-1 Emission Standard
The “E-1” rating is a European Union certification system that states that the materials used in the construction of the furniture do not off gas formaldehyde or other dangerous fumes into the sleeping environment. In addition all paints, glues, and finishes used in the furniture, also do not off emit toxic gasses. Many materials founds in most furniture made today, emit formaldehyde and a whole range of chemical gasses, many of which are harmful and are known allergens. “E-1” rating is the highest level of zero emissions rating.
In the United States there are currently no standards for toxic gas emissions from furniture, even though these gasses are known to be harmful to health. In addition there is no similar furniture product made in the United States, China or the Pacific Rim that has obtained this emission rating.
All of the raw wood materials used in many of our contemporary bedroom furniture lines come from managed forests that are harvested in a sustainable manner. What all this means to you is that with the Tokyo Bedroom Furniture line you are not only purchasing a luxurious bedroom collection but you are also making a wise choice to protect the environment… both yours and the planets. Construction
The Tokyo Bedroom furniture line is an all wood product made in accordance with the highest environmental standards, as mentioned above using a combination of solid wood and engineered wood pieces. The platform beds included the "Bowed Slat System" whereby the mattress sits directly on slightly upward curved wood slats. The real benefit of this type of slat system is that it the slats provide optimal support while at the same time allowing the mattress to firmly rest inside the bed frame, and allowing air to circulate in the sleeping environment. Two additional support rails and four support feet, offer a sturdy platform for any type of mattress.
All stains and finishes feature a special 8-layered scratch resistance process whereby 8 coats of exterior finish are applied in a continual dry and apply process. The end result is a beautiful, rich luster finish that is stain and water resistant as well as durable against chips or cracks.
All dresser and nightstands drawers used metal drawer rails with ball bearing drawer glides incorporating the special “Self Closing” process. What this means is that as the drawer is being closed it gently self closes the last 3 inches, eliminating banging, and saving fingers from getting pinched. Beds require simply assembly. The Floating Tokyo Shelf/Nightstand is designed as the perfect match to the Floating Tokyo Platform bed. The sleek, low-profile design creates an air of simplicity and luxury. The Shelf/Nightstand slides cleverly underneath the headboard and has a usable top space for books, a reading lamp or photos or perhaps a bottle of excellent rice wine. Ships assembled.
