The Luxor Platform bed and matching bedroom furniture set is the highest level of environmentally friendly furniture on the market today. The full Luxor set is classified as “E-1” constructed and uses only wood that is “FSC” certified. What does this mean?
E-1 Emission Standard
The “E-1” rating is a European Union certification system that states that the materials used in the construction of the furniture do not off-gas formaldehyde or other dangerous fumes into the sleeping environment. All paints, glues and finishes used in the furniture do not emit toxic gasses. Many materials founds in most furniture made today, emit formaldehyde and a whole range of chemical gasses, many of which are harmful and are known allergens. An “E-1” rating is the highest level of zero emissions rating. In the United States there are currently no standards for toxic gas emissions from furniture, even though these gasses are known to be harmful to health. In addition there is no similar furniture product made in the United States, China or the Pacific Rim that has obtained this emission rating.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification is the highest level of independent, 3rd party rating and verification for sustainable harvested forest products. Ergonomic, High-Quality Construction
The Luxor platform beds include the Ergonomic "Bowed Slat System" where the mattress sits directly on slightly upward curved wood slats. The real benefit of this system is that the slats provide optimal support while at the same time allowing the mattress to firmly rest inside the bed frame and allowing air to circulate in the sleeping environment. Two additional feet offer a sturdy platform for any type of mattress.
The ebony and ivory lacquers feature a special 8-layer, scratch-resistant process where coats of exterior finish are applied in a continual dry and apply process. The end result is a beautiful, rich lacquer that is stain and water resistant as well as durable against chips or cracks. Each nightstand, dresser and mirror combines the ebony or ivory carved leather with wood inlays and genuine Strass Swarovski Crystal accents, all enhancing the brilliance of the ebony or ivory lacquer. All dresser and nightstand drawers use metal drawer rails with ball-bearing drawer glides with a “Self Closing” process. As the drawer is being closed, it gently self closes the last 3 inches, eliminating banging and saving fingers from getting pinched. Dressers and nightstands come assembled. Truck line shipping.
