The name, Sapporo, pronounced Sa/poor/ro, is affectionately referred to in Japan as being "Blessed by Snow," "Blessed By Comfort," and "Blessed by Beauty." In Sapporo, where winter lasts from December to March, snowfall can average more than 16 feet. Sapporo is known for the annual Snow Festival, which draws more than two million tourists from around the world.

The Sapporo modern platform bed is made from solid birch and ash wood and wrapped in a luxurious, dark chocolate, espresso black leather exterior. The queen and king beds feature a low profile styling, and the platform system of construction, which places the mattress directly upon a set of solid wood slats.
