Much of the appeal of a traditional Japanese home is due to its clean, uncluttered look, and simple yet elegant design. Japanese interior design is not about adding extra items to the room. The goal is to actually minimize distraction and allow the graceful beauty of a few choice furniture pieces to affect the feel and atmosphere of the room. Designed and manufactured in Italy to the highest quality and environmental standards, the Kenso Bedroom furniture includes the exclusive "Bowed Slat System" whereby the mattress sits directly on slightly upward curved, solid wooden slats. The real benefit of this type of this system is that the slats provide optimal support while at the same time allowing the mattress to firmly rest inside the bed frame, and allowing air to circulate in the sleeping environment. Two additional support rails and four support feet, offer a sturdy platform for any type of mattress, futon, or memory foam mattress. All Kenso furniture is manufactured from "E-1" solid wood and engineered wood.

The entire Kenso Bedroom Set is made from “Eco-Wood” and has received the highest certification from the European Union, for being made in an environmentally sustainable manner without the use of toxic glues or dangerous chemicals, paints or stains. “Eco-Wood” is wood that is certified and in addition, has also obtained an “E-1” off-gassing rating.
“E-1” rating is special European Union rating system that states that the furniture is assembled without the use of toxic glues, paints, or finishes. In addition, there is no off gassing of toxic fumes into the sleeping environment from the finished furniture product. There is no similar furniture rating system for furniture products made in the states of in the Pacific Rim.
