The collection is classified as “E-1” constructed and uses only wood that is Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified. The “E-1” rating is a European Union certification system that states that the materials used in the construction of the furniture do not off-gas formaldehyde or other dangerous fumes into the environment. All paints, glues and finishes used in the furniture do not emit toxic gasses. The FSC certification is the highest level of independent, 3rd party rating and verification for sustainable harvested forest products. The ebony and ivory lacquers feature a special 8-layered scratch-resistant process where coats of exterior finish are applied in a continual dry and apply process. The end result is a beautiful, rich lacquer that is stain and water resistant as well as durable against chips or cracks. The magnificent Dining Room set features a carved, authentic leather stamped to resemble the natural design of alligator leather. What that means to you, is that you can enjoy the look and feel of alligator leather without endangering a threatened species. Combine the stamped leather with wood inlays and genuine Strass Swarovski Crystal accents and you have a luxurious, beautiful dining room set. These classic features enhance the splendor of the lacquer in an ebony or ivory finish. All drawers use metal drawer rails with ball-bearing drawer glides with a “Self Closing” process.
