The EcoRest Futon offers the comfortable firmness of a traditional futon mattress with one noticeable difference. The latex gives the cotton batting a very slight give or flex, creating what can only be called an amazing sleeping sensation. Luxurious, healthy comfort at its best!!

Our EcoRest Futons are All-Natural, 100% Organic

The EcoRest Futon is an Organic Futon made entirely of Organic Wool, Organic Cotton and All Natural Latex. We use the same all-natural latex found in our Naturalpedic Latex Mattresses line, which is an all-natural form of foam rubber created from the sap of the Asian Rubber Tree. This natural material does not off-gas toxic gasses into the sleeping environment as do synthetic foams used in most futons. In addition, our latex core is 100% latex as opposed to a blended latex whereby latex and synthetic polystyrene petrochemicals are blended together as do many latex mattresses. The Haiku Designs EcoRest Latex Futon mattress is made from 100% pure latex. This is a more costly type of latex but we feel it is worth it.

 

Our EcoRest Futons start with a 3 all-natural latex core. Surrounding this latex core, we place layers of  additional latex, soft Organic Lofted Cotton, and Organic Wool, and quilt the entire package in an Organic Cotton Luxurious Damask cover for extra comfort. This results in a 100% Organic, all-natural mattress that not only feels great and offers great comfort, but that is actually good for you. Choose from the Level 1 EcoRest Deluxe Futon Mattress™, the Level 2 EcoRest Luxury Futon  Mattress™ or the Level 3 EcoRest Ultra Lux Futon Mattress™. All of these futons provide a comfortable, firm rest on the healthiest futon in the world.

closeupOur EcoRest Futons do not include any synthetic foam cores, pesticide-treated cotton batting or polyester shells. Most futon mattresses today are made from cotton stuffing and synthetic, polyester-based foam cores. Petrochemical foams off-gas a whole list of toxins into the sleeping environment. In addition, although cotton is a natural material, standard cotton used in bedding is grown using tons of pesticides and synthetic fertilizers.

Level 1 - EcoRest Deluxe Futon Mattress

This futon mattress is more like a traditional futon mattress. The futon begins with a core of 3 inches of 100% Natural Organic Latex. We then sandwich that core with 2 inches of organic cotton followed by 1.5" of natural wool on each side. The entire package is wrapped and quilted it in a luxurious, organic cotton damask cover, resulting in a quilted height of approximately 5 inches. Comfort Level: Firm

Level 2 - EcoRest Luxury Futon Mattress

This futon mattress is for customers who want a futon with a slightly softer feel. We begin with a core of 5 inches of 100% Natural Organic  Latex. We then sandwich the latex core with 3" of Organic Cotton followed by 1.5" of natural wool on each side, and take the entire package and wrap it in a luxurious, organic cotton damask cover, resulting in a quilted height of approximately 6-7 inches. Comfort Level: Medium Firm

We then sandwich the latex core that with 4 inches of Organic Cotton followed by 1.5 inches of natural wool on each side. The entire package is wrapped in a luxurious, organic plush cotton damask cover, resulting in a quilted height of approximately 9 inches. Comfort Level: Medium Firm
