In addition, the Milano Platform bed is one of the most comfortable beds on the market today because the complete wood frame structure is surrounded by padded eco-foam and covered in a luxurious white bi-cast leather. This not only creates an exceptional look, and is extremely durable, it also creates that wonderful place of comfort to lean back, relax and enjoy that earliy morning coffee.
Construction
All Milano platform beds include the exclusive "Bowed-Slat System" whereby the mattress sits directly on slightly upward curved solid wood slats. The real benefit of this type of slat system is that it the slats provide optimal mattress support allowing the mattress to firmly rest inside the bed frame, while at the same time allowing air to circulate in the sleeping environment. Two additional support rails and four support feet, offer a sturdy platform for any type of mattress.
The new Milano Bedroom Furniture Collection designed and manufactured in Italy is available in Queen or King platform style bed and fits any standard size mattress or futon. Simple assembly. Truck line shipping required.

The Milano Platform bed and matching bedroom furniture set is the highest level of environmentally friendly furniture on the market today. The full Milano set has been classified as "E-1" constructed, using only wood that is E-1 certified. What does this mean?
E-1 Emission Standard
The "E-1" rating is a European Union certification system that states that the materials used in the construction of the furniture do not off gas formaldehyde or other dangerous fumes into the sleeping environment. In addition all paints, glues, and finishes used in the furniture, also do not off emit toxic gasses. Many materials founds in most furniture made today, emit formaldehyde and a whole range of chemical gasses, many of which are harmful and are known allergens. "E-1" rating is the highest level of zero emissions rating.
In the United States there are currently no standards for toxic gas emissions from furniture, even though these gasses are known to be harmful to health. In addition there is no similar furniture product made in the United States, China or the Pacific Rim that has obtained this emission rating.

The matching White Lacquer Dresser and Nightstand rounds out the Milano Contemporary Bedroom Furniture line offering a simple and affordable way to create a whole new bedroom look and relaxing ambience with one easy step. All dressers and nightstands are made from solid wood and wood composites and finished with a special 12 step process creating a beautiful finish similar to a piano style surface.
In addition, all drawers use metal drawer rails with ball-bearing drawer glides incorporating the special “Self Closing” process. What this means is that as the drawer is being closed it gently self closes the last 3 inches, eliminating banging, and saving fingers from getting pinched. Dressers and nightstands come assembled.
