Terra Cotta Warriors of Ancient China
Over 2,200 years ago China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huagn, in search of immortality, ordered the construction of a vast army of 8,000 life-sized Terra Cotta warriors. For 36 years, more than 700,000 laborers worked on this huge project. Surrounding his tomb and then buried under layers of earth and sand, this amazing archeological treasure was first discovered in 1974, by a Chinese farmer digging a well. The subject of numerous articles, television shows, and visited by over 2 million visitors each year, the site is considered one of the wonders of the ancient world.
Haiku Designs is pleased to offer Terra Cotta reproductions of several of the warriors found in this site. Terra Cotta is a porcelain, kiln fired clay known for its strength and durability. Our Terra Cotta Warriors are cast from molds made from the original statues and are the only reproductions authorized and certified by the government of China.
In addition the Haiku Designs Terra Cotta warriors are museum quality, in terms of exact, and fine detail reproduction, and in the manner in which they are finished. All of our Warriors feature precise detail down to the expressive facial features, and are finished with a special patina wash, to most closely resemble the antique look of the originals.
Available in several different sizes, our Ancient Chinese warriors are a great complement to any decor. Try one of the smaller sizes as a gift, or a bookcase collectible, while the larger life size statues can be a dramatic addition to a home or business interior. IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION Mid Size and Large Size Statues ship via UPS ground and take approximately 7-15 business days. Mid Size, 20 inch tall statues incur a $14.00 UPS ground shipping charges for shipments within the continental United States. Large Size Statues, 40 inch or 29.5 inch tall for the kneeling archer, incur a $79.00 UPS ground shipping and crating charge for shipments within the continental United States. The Life Size, 5 foot Terra Cotta Statues, and the 6 foot Grand Size Terra Cotta statues, require truck line shipping and incur special crating charges to insure they arrive undamaged. We crate each of these statues in a specially-designed box with 3 inches of protective foam encasing the statue in a sturdy, protective container. The statues are then secured on a pallet, and shipped to their destination fully insured. Haiku Designs has negotiated special contracts with a number of Grade A truck line carriers whereby we receive high discounts due to the volume we ship. We pass these discounts on to you. Please place your order for the large Terra Cotta statues and be sure to include the address where you want the statue to be shipped. We will calculate the exact shipping cost and contact you for your approval. With your approval, we will process and ship your order. The 5 foot and 6 foot statues can weigh from 375-600 lbs. and require truck line shipping. There is a crating charge of $195 for each of these statues.
