Wishing you a Green Christmas
Despite the heavy winter weather gripping most of the nation right now, and in spite of the fact that everyone loves a White Christmas, here as Haiku Designs we feel a Green Christmas is the way to go. Green as everyone knows is not just the color of the Grinch from Dr. Seuss’s classic Christmas story, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”; it is also used to refer to Eco- Conscious living.
And that is what we are referring to when we say we wish you a Green Christmas.
Eco-Conscious living is can be considered actions and conscious decisions made in the market place that reduce, re-use and recycle, effectively lessen our impact on the environment. Anything and you way you find to do that is a way that you can take a step into Eco-conscious living, and basically help take it easy On Mother Earth this holiday season.
Maybe it is the use of recycled wrapping paper, or deciding to use your cloth and reusable shopping bag on that trip to the Grocery store. Maybe it finally installing that Thermostat in your home to program and lessen energy use for periods of the day or night when you are away from home. Maybe it is stepping back from the mad, mad rush to get everyone in your family the last, most amazing gift, and taking the time to choose something maybe less impactful or perhaps even handcrafting gifts for your friends. I received a beautiful present several years ago from a friend that was a beautiful bag of delicious mixed nuts with spices in a hand made cloth bag. Hmmmm.. Delicious.
Or maybe it is taking a year off of giving presents to family and takes that money and donates it to a Charity of your choice.
Here at Haiku Designs we are constantly looking at ways to reduce our impact on the environment. We now use Cornstarch packing peanuts, and we recycle all of our cardboard boxes, as well as paper, plastic and packing materials. Many of our lines of modern furniture and platform beds are made from Bamboo timber, a totally renewable form of wood with a minimum impact on the environment
Organic bedding, organic sheets and organic pillows are a big hit this holiday season as our customers look for healthier choices to give to the friend and family.
Remember. We are not talking about a Grinch style Christmas. A green Christmas doesn’t mean tiny crumbs even too small for mouse… style of Christmas. It means taking a few moments and finding ways to reduce one’s impact on the environment.
So raising a Glass.. We wish you and yours a Joyful and Happy Green Christmas.
