Each bamboo culm used in the production of Haiku Designs Eco-Friendly Bamboo Furniture products is individually selected and hand harvested. See the farmer’s age markers on the bamboo culms. No heavy equipment is brought into the bamboo forests which would damage the integrity of the forest floors. This preserves the eco-system of the native bamboo forest, and leaves the bamboo root system intact, from which new bamboo shoots will emerge and grow the following year.
