Whether you’re an experienced online shopper or not, online shopping for large pieces such as furniture can be a bit daunting. Worry not! The dedicated staff at Haiku Designs is here to help you through to the end of the shipping and delivery process. Your satisfaction is our priority. Here at Haiku we feel passionately about providing our esteemed customers with the personal service only small guys are capable of.

 

What you need to know

Once your pieces are ready to be shipped to you, Haiku will appoint a delivery concierge who will contact you by email, and will follow up with a phone call to discuss with you the specifics of your delivery and review the receiving instructions detailed in the aforementioned email. Your delivery concierge will coordinate all the necessary logistics to ensure your items arrive in excellent condition and will remain available to you should you have questions or require any assistance.

It is our mission to provide you with the most satisfactory experience, so we offer free standard shipping as well as special delivery services for an added fee. The majority of our pieces are shipped via freight while smaller pieces can be shipped via ground. Freight means your item(s) will arrive on a pallet and dropped off at the residential front door. For homes this means the front door of, while for apartments this means the first-floor entrance of an apartment building. Unfortunately, in some areas the only option may be curbside delivery. We are also happy to offer White Glove delivery services for an added charge. White Glove delivery is crème de la crème- a complete service in which the delivery people bring all the items into the desired room, fully assemble the furniture, and remove all packaging from the home. For both regular freight and White Glove deliveries, an adult (18+) who is aware of the receiving instructions must be present to sign for the items being delivered.

Regardless of the service you choose, our dedicated delivery concierge is here to make it a pleasantly smooth process. In addition to the receiving instruction, the email sent to you by your delivery concierge will provide you with the necessary contact information of the company handling your home delivery as well as the shipment tracking numbers so you can always be up to date as to where your beautiful, new pieces are.

 

Inspecting your delivery

A crucial part of the delivery process is the inspection you will be instructed to conduct when your items arrive. Your delivery concierge will inform you of this in the email and will go over it during the follow-up call made to you prior to your items being shipped. Simply inspect the boxes for any tears, dents, or holes in the packaging (or the actual items if you chose White Glove delivery) and annotate all of your findings on the Proof of Delivery Receipt. In addition to the notes made on the Proof of Delivery Receipt, we would also ask that you take pictures of the damage so that we may include them in any claims.

We go to great lengths to ensure your furniture arrives in perfect condition, but should it arrive a less than impeccable state we want to be able to do everything we can to fix or replace the affected pieces and achieve your full satisfaction. Haiku Designs insures all shipments, so if there are any problems, do not worry! We will make it right. The inspection is our tool to do just that. Of course, we work hard to provide you with the immaculate pieces you had been anxiously awaiting, but we also like covering all our bases by being prepared to handle any and all “what if” situations- our many years of experience have taught us as much. So rest assured- we got this!
